The firm, wholly-owned by Germany's Schmidt Heilbronn, will lease about 400,000 sq ft of prime land at the Bahrain Logistics Zone (BLZ), in order to setup an economical and efficient solution to store, handle and distribute different bulk materials like polyethylene, polypropylene, catalysts and additives for the chemical and petrochemical industry.TRISTAR FORMS OIL & GAS LOGISTICS JV WITH ENOC IN SAUDI ARABIA: Emirates National Oil Co (ENOC) has partnered with Dubai-based multi-modal liquid logistics service provider, Tristar Transport, to set up a new joint venture in Saudi Arabia focused on specialised logistics services for the kingdom's petroleum and chemicals sectors, Saudi Gazette has reported. With an initial capital outlay of SR30m, the new ENOC-Tristar JV will initially operate a small fleet of vehicles in 2013. Envisaged as a self-contained logistics facility, the JV plans to expand its fleet to 500 vehicles by 2017.OMAN TO AWARD CONTRACT FOR DUQM ROAD SOON: Oman is set to name soon themini storagewinning bidder of the contract for roads in Duqm, Oman Daily Observer has reported. Over 10 local and international consultancy firms are bidding for a contract to provide consultancy services for the Phase 1 design and construction supervision of roads and infrastructure for the town. The successful bidder will be required to undertake the complete design of road networks, common corridors for utilities and drainage systems, electrical distribution networks, potable water distribution networks, and sewerage and irrigation systems. Around 205-km of single and dual carriageways will be designed and built as part of Phase 1.TWO FIRMS TO CONDUCT FEASIBILITY STUDIES FOR GCC RAILWAY PROJECT: Bahraini transport minister, Kamal bin Ahmad has said two international firms are to conduct feasibility studies for the proposed multibillion-dollar railway project that would link the six-member countries of the GCC, Arab News has reported.
